Lullaby Project

Lullaby Project

These are a series of pieces referenced for their ability to help sleep through carefully arranged harmonies and rhythms. They have been broken down into four distinctive moods with five different options in each:

1
Tranquil Piano

2
Evolving Motion

3
Electronic Focus

4
Organic Ambience

The referenced works within these moods have been thoughtfully curated for their ability to shift focus from external factors that affect sleep and allow the listener to spend small moments on themselves and improve the quality of their sleep.

Tranquil Piano

Feature 1

A selection of piano focused pieces creating a suitable mood for sleep help.
Instrumentation: Piano, Bells, Pads, Strings, Foley.

Simple piano melody with an addition of bells from 2:00 onwards. Not necessarily the background ambience but I like the idea of a constant, subtle undertone playing with changing notes.

Soothing track. Waves as background ambience and piano repetitions.

Lots of space between the music. Love the sparse notes mixed with a tape like pad that gently cuts in and out and creates subtle white noise. Nice piano melody but too busy towards the end.

0:00—1:35 for suitable reference point. Reimagined piano for depth and movement and the addition of intimate strings play well together.

Light piano and subtle, frozen strings slowly weaving in and out. Too cinematic towards the middle 2:20 - end is a good reference point.

Bird ambience and Melody. Slowly gaining complexity but remaining minimal.

Evolving Motion

Feature 1

Peaceful, unfolding soundscapes with minimal distractions for calm and focus.
Instrumentation: Pads, Strings, Synth, Piano.

0:00—0:45 for reference point. Soft pads, and slow addition of strings.

Rhodes notes with a constant, gently distorted background ambience. Slowly and quietly evolving.

1:15—2:00. Background ambience  with sweeping, evolving synth pads and soft synth notes

Minimal composition and slow progressions.

Reference point from 1:45 onwards. Long release sine waves and harmonics. Guitar is not suitable instrumentation but I like the notes accompanying the other parts at work.

Constant synth pad with all the other elements slowly moving around it. Good reference for concentrating on movement

Electronic Focus

Feature 1

Minimal synth keys and background ambience swaying back and forth.
Instrumentation: Keys, Synth, Pads, Piano.

A simple but effective melody. Slowly progressing and building

Also simple, soft notes that ring out. Great for focus.

A nice melody and ambience. I like the addition of soft sine bells and growth

Referenced for the tones and melody underneath and not the percussion. The random noises that come in and out are far too harsh and distracting but I like the idea of a gentle melody with additions of soft synth notes and ambience.

0:00—1:00 for reference. Not the percussion but the gentle synth arpeggio and automated reverb are good. A soft melody comes in around 0:15 and joined by wind chime ambience and random synth beeps that work nicely together. Slightly quirky, almost voice like notes.

Organic Ambience

Feature 1

A collection of ambient pieces with no main focal point.
Everything blends together to create a restful and soothing mood.

Nice mix of piano and light percussion from background noise and room objects.

0:00—0:55 Love the freezing on the notes and gentle piano. Perhaps a little too harsh but the idea is good.

Piano arps and repetition, too fast but I like the idea of a panning piano note as background ambience.

0:25 onwards. meditative and relaxing. I like the piano notes almost sweeping in.

Swells of cello and bells and gentle piano notes.
